Update: Site Transformation to Halo 4

Ok so this place has been going well, and I am very happy to see it grow accordingly. Now that we've had our first taster of Halo 4 everyone is eagerly awaiting its release. Because Halo 4 will be very popular within the upcoming months as we get drip fed pieces of information about it, I feel the need to update the current state of Halo Master Class. The idea is to keep everything pretty much the same in terms of format and layout, but to shift all the Halo Reach stuff into a  box and store it away in a nice little section on it's own and tucked away all safe and sound. This reallocation of posts and pages will allow room for all the glorious info that will come to light from 343 industries and the Halo 4 title in the months ahead.

The already mentioned changes will take place gradually as new aspects of Halo 4 are introduced to the general public. Hopefully when a few of the key details are finalised about what we want to change around here, expect a monthly update to introduce you to a breakdown of the areas that will change so you will know what has been adapted.

In keeping with the wealth of information relating to Halo Reach, the section of Halo 4 will include weapons and vehicles, with images and videos of them too. And of course regular posts about key aspects of the game, multiplayer, campaign or any other useful information that is worth your time to note down.

So look forward to a flurry of activity coming your way soon, fellow Halo fans.

Halo 4 Release Date

So far we do not know the halo 4 release date, 343 industries are guarding that secret for a while perhaps until a full trailer comes out with final content of tested game-play. And thinking about testing,  let's not forget that 343 industries are yet to commence the internal beta for Halo 4, so there's a bit of a way to go. As mentioned in previous discussions There will be no public beta like there was with Halo Reach. This is important to realise because there are already mountains of twitter account, websites and other bogus nonsense out there all too eager to claim some personal info of yours or worse some of your hard earned money.

Back on topic, the key thing to look out for will be another Vidoc or perhaps the announcement trailer sometime in the summer. So expect a few months to pass before we get another small (or big) bite of juicy information

Once we know the date you will know. Promise.

More Wonderful Images

So you seemed to like the recent Halo 4 images. well here's a few more of the Chief, Cortana and the new style battle rifle, enjoy:

March Update

Once again we arrive at the monthly update. So how things are progressing in this blog?

Firstly the series of posts along with video footage of How to Use Vehicles Effectively has finished. If you haven't checked it out go to the archive or the Basic and Advanced page to learn more and increase you skills.

Next up on the agenda will be to take a look into game types, although this may ultimately be one post or two long, it will be very helpful for those who don't know what is what so as to get a general breakdown of current and perhaps future (meaning Halo 4) game types and hoppers etc...

And that leads nicely onto my third point, 343 industries has recently released a First Look ViDoc to the general public. This gives you some brief samples of what the ongoing development is like. Of particular interest will be the graphical and audio improvements which add that atmosphere and depth to any game experience. But of even more important factor for most gamers is the news that the Battle Rifle will be back.

343 also unveiled a couple of Halo 4 multiplayer maps, which will be separate from the campaign and thus built from the ground up, which is great. The two maps on show are Warhouse and Wraparound. Watch the video for more detail on them.

I also advise you to look around youtube for breakdowns of the ViDoc to discover all the little details that you may have missed out.

More details to come on Halo 4 soon.

Halo 4 images

Expect to see quite a lot of these images flying around the ether now the first ViDoc  has been released. If, however, you have been absent and have you missed the First Look Video Documentary from 343 Industries watch the video now Click here, it kicks-ass!

Now onto some of the latest images...just a few simple ones to get you ready for what lays ahead.

I'm not too sure how much of this is official stuff, I'm not the judge of that, you can be if you want. But I came across this last image on my searches and well it was one that made me smile a bit and I'm sure will bring a smile to your face as well.

Enjoy

So there we have it until next time. Once more stuff comes in, tune back in here to get up to speed with the latest updates of any new art, news, ViDocs and other juicy tidbits of Halo 4 info that you know you want.

Halo 4 More info

Ok so you must have seen the new first look ViDoc for Halo 4 which is totally awesome. Personally not having enough time to analyse all aspects of the video fully check out some of the ViDoc breakdown videos like to see things that you may have overlooked when watching originally.

List of changes:

  • Battle Rifle is back  -  and its been given a new scope.
  • Overhauled sounds  - all the new sounds have been recorded from scratch to get the exact perfect sounds in-game.

Hud Changes

  • 3 different grenade types  - currently there are three 0's for grenade slots. Each one able to hold three grenades, 9 in total? will have to see if that changes.
  • Halo 3-style Radar - radar seems to have the up an down elevation arrows, and what looks like an arrow at the edge of the radar to reveal distant enemies beyond the nearby range. Team mates appear GREEN, enemies appear RED.
  • Damage Direction Arrows - looking pretty interesting.
  • Secondary Weapon -  displayed on left hand side.
  • Armour ability - (Jetpack) displayed on left hand side.
  • Lighter Kill Text - much more transparent and not solid blue as Halo 3 was. So no more ridiculous text blocking up half the screen.

Misc
  • NO beta  - halo 4 won't have a public beta. As confirmed by 343industries. So beware of beta key fraudsters.
  • New items to spend Credits on - which won't be limited to just armour. Maybe a perk system? although this is not in-keeping with Halo.
  • Additional medals scoring system (game type?) - notice (in the Vidoc) that next to the medals earned are a number and the score of a BR slayer game was upward of 300 which is way too high. This appears to be an additional variant of team score. Obviously this will not replace traditional kill-scoring paradigm but rather introduce a new feature for certain game types.

Halo 4 is still in development, so some of these items may change or not happen at all, please bear that in mind when considering this post.

Well that's all we have so far, look out for more details soon.

Halo 4 Update

So finally we have some info related to Halo 4! Oh Yes! I hear you say...

If you haven't already done so, check out the new FIRST LOOK video below:

Among improving on the graphics and model style of the armour that we will see in the campaign and multi player, a big choice has been to bring back the original halo 3 battle rifle with the triple-shot burst fire functionality. This will probably cause lots of dynamic change to the game like experienced back on halo 3.

Personally I'm pretty pleased that things will be picking up from where we left off in terms of the battle rifle, the new model specification etc...

Two maps are featured on the video, they are Wraparound and Warhouse. Both look aesthetically pleasing and have lended some features from previous maps from halo3 and Reach, in terms of style and design. Is it me or does warhouse appear to be a mix of Halo Reach countdown and the downloaded map Anchor 9? But don't get me wrong it looks incredibly awesome, keeping the same feel and texture we are already familiar with.

Purely judging from the video footage we can tell that the character models appear nicely trimmed and moving around fluidly in keep with Halo tradition.

And 343 are clear they want the whole experience to be much more cinematic, again keeping true to and expanding on the main story and emotional journey of previous games.

All very promising so far. And we cant wait for more....
